Vincent Kompany expressed immense pride after FC Bayern Munich secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday, earning another major trophy in the Belgian manager’s debut season at the helm.

Following a challenging first half, Bayern came out stronger after the interval, delivering a dominant second-half performance that sealed the win in emphatic fashion.

“I’m very happy for the players and truly proud of them. We remained composed after the first half and elevated our game. The way the boys responded today was outstanding. Sometimes, as the coach of this team, you just stand there and admire what they do,” Kompany said with a smile.

Kompany explained that his half-time talk focused more on maintaining composure and patience rather than making drastic tactical adjustments.

“During the break, I simply told the players to stay calm — their opportunities would come,” he revealed.

The Bayern boss also highlighted how such victories help to strengthen the team’s winning mentality and build valuable experience for future challenges.

“We’ve celebrated another success today, and we’ll carry these emotions and lessons into upcoming finals, which I hope will come again soon,” he added.

Despite Bayern’s dominant season, Kompany emphasised that ensuring his players retain their hunger and high standards remains his most crucial responsibility as head coach.

“My job is to remind the players that they must always stay hungry. Even if someone from our team wins the World Cup, three days later he’ll be back here — and everything begins again from scratch. That’s the mentality that keeps us successful,” Kompany concluded.
