Smart Meter Update: In Uttar Pradesh, all electricity consumers will start getting regular electricity bills from June 2026. This also includes those consumers in whose homes prepaid smart meters have already been installed. Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited is continuously informing people about this change.

According to the Electricity Department, in the first 10 days of June, electricity bills will be made available to consumers through SMS, WhatsApp and UPPCL app. However, for this it is necessary that your prepaid meter has shifted to postpaid mode.

Message not received? check the meter yourself

After converting prepaid meter to postpaid, consumers are being informed by sending messages. But if you have not received any such message, then you can easily check its status on your meter itself.

For this you will have to press the button on the meter repeatedly. Different information will appear on the display, including whether the meter is in prepaid or postpaid mode.
