Special Cell of Delhi Police has taken major action against Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu Gang and arrested 3 shooters and 2 arms suppliers. The gang was planning to open fire at a clinic in Chhawla for extortion.
Shooter Abhishek arrested
The Special Cell/Northern Range team arrested shooter Abhishek, a resident of Amritsar, on March 20. During interrogation, he told that on the request of Nandu, he had come to Delhi with his friends in February. Firing was to be done at Chhawla’s clinic, but due to large crowd the incident was postponed.
Ankush and Aman were also caught
On the behest of Abhishek, the police caught his associates Sahil and Harshdeep alias Polu from Amritsar. Arms suppliers Karan alias Ankush and Aman were also arrested from Kaithal. 3 semi-automatic pistols, 4 live cartridges and 3 mobile phones have been recovered from the accused. Evidence of conversation with Nandu has been found from the mobile.
Arms Act case in Kaithal
During interrogation, it was revealed that Nandu was running an extortion racket from abroad. Shooters from Punjab are sent to Delhi to carry out crimes. Weapons and bikes are provided by his associates from Kaithal. Among the arrested shooters, Sahil and Harshdeep already have criminal cases registered against them in Amritsar. There is an Arms Act case against Karan in Kaithal, Haryana. Special Cell says that due to this action a major incident in the capital was averted. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the network and funding chain of the gang.
