Harpreet Brar recently posted a picture on social media of himself with his Punjab Kings' (PBKS) teammates Arshdeep Singh and Priyansh Arya. Yuvraj Singh's comment on the picture has left the fans in stitches.
The legendary former India all-rounder has done some excellent work behind the scenes with talented youngsters from Punjab and other parts of the country. Almost everyone he has coached has benefited from his input. Sanju Samson worked with Yuvraj before the T20 World Cup 2026 and won the Player of the Tournament award. The likes of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma were among the first batch of players who honed their skills under Yuvraj.
Brar and Arshdeep play for Punjab in domestic cricket. They have had the experience of interacting with Yuvraj and improved their craft. Arya, who represents Delhi in domestic cricket, has also had sessions with the 2011 ODI World Cup winner.
Under Brar's Instagram post, Yuvraj wrote the following: Tuhade sariyan e chapalan da time ho gaya hai hun! (It's time for you all to get a thrashing with slippers.)
Arya, Arshdeep, and Brar have not had the kind of campaign they would have hoped for in IPL 2026, and that has probably made Yuvraj upset. Although the Punjab Kings are still in contention to reach the playoffs, their campaign has been rather dramatic. They won six out of their first seven games.
However, after a six-match losing streak, their last league game against the Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday proved to be a must-win affair. On the back of Shreyas Iyer's ton, Punjab did get the much-needed win. They will now keep tabs on the two games on Sunday as the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders, who are also fighting for the fourth spot on the points table, will be in action.
Talking about Arya, the left-handed batter had a fantastic start to the season, but his form dipped as the tournament progressed. In the last three matches, he has registered scores of 22, 0, and 0.
Arshdeep, on the other hand, has looked a bit tired after helping India win the T20 World Cup just ahead of the IPL. He has picked up 14 wickets from as many games, but his economy rate is well above 10. Arshdeep has been in the news more for his social media vlogging, which has been controversial at times.
Coming to Brar, the left-arm spinner hasn't had too many opportunities this season. In two games, he has picked up two wickets at a fine economy rate of 7.50.
