Marco Rubio On US-India Trade Deal: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has given a big statement on Sunday regarding the India-US trade agreement. He said that this deal will be beneficial for both the countries and it is being finalized. Along with this, the US Foreign Minister also said that the bilateral partnership between the two countries is moving in a positive direction.

At a joint press conference with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Rubio said that we have made great progress in bilateral trade talks and I think we will reach a trade agreement between the US and India that will be long-term, beneficial to both sides and sustainable keeping in mind the national interests.

‘The aim is not to target any country’

On the tariffs imposed by the Trump government on India, Rubio said that the Trump administration’s economic strategy focuses on restructuring America’s global trade structure rather than targeting any particular nation. He said it was only about America’s trade. President Trump never said that any way should be found which would increase the conflict with India. in front of us US economy There are some challenges to this, which cannot be taken forward.

Rubio further said that the US has a huge trade imbalance that needs to be addressed. The President’s attempt was only to correct this, and not to target India. He said that a US trade delegation will visit India very soon to finalize the upcoming agreement.

India is a big economy- Rubio

We trade with India on a large scale, so obviously there is a huge gap before us in establishing trade balance with such a big and vast country. He further said that through this rebalancing, we are ultimately looking for trade agreements around the world and we are confident that we will reach ones that are good for the United States, but also good for our trading partners.
