Rajasthan Royals finally kept their IPL 2026 campaign alive in style as they secured a stunning 30-run victory over Mumbai Indians to book their place in the playoffs.
With the victory, Rajasthan Royals became the fourth and final team to qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs, while Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings were officially knocked out of the tournament.
Soon after the result, Rajasthan Royals’ social media handle grabbed attention with a hilarious meme featuring Arjun Kapoor. The meme instantly went viral among IPL fans for its clever dig at Punjab Kings after their elimination.
Rajasthan Royals’ viral Arjun Kapoor meme explained
The meme template showed a woman entering through a door while Arjun Kapoor standing near the entrance. The woman symbolised Rajasthan Royals entering the IPL 2026 playoffs. Meanwhile, the character played by Arjun was shown talking to someone off-camera and only turning towards the door after it had already closed.
In the meme, Arjun Kapoor represented Punjab Kings, with the closed door symbolising the end of their playoff hopes.
Interestingly, the post was also seen as a response to Punjab Kings’ earlier social media activity from May 1. Back then, Punjab Kings had indirectly trolled Rajasthan Royals after Delhi Capitals pulled off a sensational chase of 227 runs in Jaipur.
RR deliver under pressure against Mumbai Indians
Rajasthan Royals entered the clash knowing a defeat would hurt their playoff hopes, but the team responded with a clinical all-round performance under pressure. After being asked to bat first, RR produced important contributions throughout the batting order to post a strong total of 205/8 in 20 overs.
Dhruv Jurel top-scored with a composed 38-run knock, while Jofra Archer provided the late fireworks with a blistering 32 off just 15 deliveries to push Rajasthan beyond the 200-run mark.
Archer then starred with the ball as well, delivering another sensational spell with figures of three wickets in four overs. He completely dismantled Mumbai Indians’ top order and set the tone early in the innings. Brijesh Sharma also impressed with the ball, picking up two wickets while conceding only 26 runs in his four overs.
It turned out to be a complete performance from Rajasthan Royals as they sealed a memorable victory and booked their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs in dramatic fashion.
