Delhi Pollution: The Delhi government is continuously taking new measures to combat rising pollution in the national capital. In line with this effort, the Delhi government initiated trials of new technologies to tackle pollution in the capital last Saturday. Under this initiative, various 'Made in India' air-purifying systems have been installed across Delhi to help mitigate pollution levels. In this context, we will explain today where these purifying systems have been installed and how they function...
1. STR 101 Filterless Air Purifier
To reduce air pollution, STR 101 filterless air purifier machines have been installed along Guru Ram Singh Marg. A total of 21 such devices have been deployed on this stretch. These machines work to control smoke, dust, and fine particulate matter—such as PM2.5 and PM10—present in the air, as well as other harmful pollutants. A key feature of this system is its capacity to purify approximately 300,000 liters of air per hour.
2. EV-Mounted Anti-Smog Gun
India's first zero-emission mobile anti-smog system has been deployed in the Kirti Nagar and Mayapuri areas. This specialized system is designed to reduce airborne dust and pollution generated on the roads. Through this initiative, a "clean air corridor" is being created in these regions, making it easier for residents to breathe clean air and simultaneously improving visibility on the roads.
3. PAWAN III Pollution Control Device
The 'PAWAN III' pollution control device has been installed near the Kirti Nagar Fire Station. This advanced system captures and treats vehicular emissions directly at the source level. During field trials, this device demonstrated a reduction of approximately 29% in particulate pollution, thereby playing a significant role in improving the air quality in the surrounding environment.
