New Delhi. A major achievement has emerged in the field of medical technology between India and China. Dr. Syed Mohammad Ghaus, sitting in Wuhan city of China, performed successful robotic surgery on a patient present in Hyderabad. This surgery, performed from a distance of about 3 thousand kilometers, is being considered a big step in the field of healthcare and telemedicine.

According to reports, before the surgery began, doctors from Wuhan and Hyderabad reviewed the patient’s medical report online and prepared a complete plan for the operation. After this, the medical team from Hyderabad gave anesthesia to the patient and set up the robotic system in the operation theatre.

High-definition 3D cameras and advanced robotic equipment were used during the surgery. Dr. Gaus, present at Tongji Hospital in Wuhan, controlled the robotic arms from a special console and completed the operation through real-time 3D visuals.

According to the report, with the help of 5G network, instructions to surgery were being transmitted in just 200 milliseconds, due to which the robotic arms were able to immediately repeat the movements of the doctor’s hands. A team of doctors was present all the time in Hyderabad to deal with any emergency.

The surgery was among 26 surgeries featured during the 10th Congress of the Chinese Chapter of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. In this, doctors from many countries participated in live international remote surgery. At the same time, China Embassy in India spokesperson Yu Jing also praised this achievement and posted on X saying that this technology can go beyond the boundaries and help in saving people’s lives.
