First father involved in illegal liquor smuggling, now son arrested for buying stolen Mangalsutra

There was a sensation in the bullion market of Triveniganj city of border district Supaul when late Saturday evening, Pipra police station of the district, while taking action in a theft case, suddenly raided a famous and so-called jewelery shop located in Triveniganj market. After the recovery of the stolen mangalsutra, the police arrested the shop operator Sumit Swarnakar and sent him to jail. It is said that the police had reached Triveniganj on the behest of an accused arrested in the case of theft of mangalsutra in Pipra police station area. The accused confessed to selling the stolen Mangalsutra at Shree Jewelers in the city. After this, the police raided the shop and recovered the allegedly stolen Mangalsutra and arrested the operator Sumit Swarnkar.

The arrested Sumit Swarnakar is the son of Dinesh Swarnakar, resident of ward number 5 of the city. Dinesh Swarnkar’s name has been in the headlines before also. A few months ago, he was accused of illegal liquor trade under the guise of a jewelery shop, for which he also had to go to jail. Local people say that despite the action, the process of illegal business is not stopping. There is a buzz in the city that the father-son duo is allegedly involved in the business of stealing jewelery and also buying jewelery at low prices from youths suffering from drug addiction.

At the same time, some people claim that the work of pawning jewelery is also done on a large scale. This matter has become a topic of discussion among the city residents. People say that properties and luxurious buildings worth crores have been built on the basis of alleged illegal business. Now people are demanding from the administration to conduct an unbiased investigation of the entire matter along with investigation of the property, so that illegal business can be completely curbed.
