Following the NEET paper leak, a NEET re-examination is being conducted. Relief has arrived for students regarding the NEET re-exam. Keeping the convenience of the candidates appearing for the examination in mind, several state governments have announced free travel on government buses. The governments of Bihar, Punjab, and Haryana have taken this decision to ensure students can reach their examination centers with ease. The NEET UG re-exam is scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026.
State governments have stated that transportation difficulties during examinations exacerbate student stress; therefore, students should be allowed to take the exam without any such worries.
**Bihar Government's Decision**
The Bihar government has announced free travel on state transport buses for students appearing for the NEET examination. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary shared this information on the social media platform 'X', stating that all students taking the exam would be able to travel across the state on government buses without paying any fare.
**Relief in Punjab as Well**
The Punjab government has also extended a special facility to examinees. In the state, NEET candidates will be able to travel free of cost on Punjab Roadways buses from June 20 to June 22. This initiative will provide significant assistance to students traveling from remote areas.
**Haryana Government Also Makes an Announcement**
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that students appearing for the NEET re-exam on June 20 and 21 will be able to travel for free on Haryana Roadways buses. The government stated that this step has been taken to ensure students can reach their examination centers on time and without any stress.
**Admit Card to Serve as Ticket**
Students will not require any separate pass or ticket. Their NEET admit card itself will serve as their travel pass. While traveling on the bus, students must carry their admit card and a valid identity card with them.
**Why is the Re-exam Being Held?**
It is noteworthy that the NEET UG examination, originally held on May 3, was cancelled following reports of a paper leak. Consequently, the examination is now scheduled to be conducted again on June 21. Approximately 2.2 million candidates are expected to appear for the NEET re-examination.
