Translating animals’ emotions using new technology

Chinese startup ‘Meng Xiaoyi’ has developed an AI-based smart collar, which claims to convert pet voices into human language. The company says that this device is capable of recognizing the emotions of animals. Its sale is going to start soon, but many people are questioning its accuracy.

Understanding pet emotions may now be simpler than ever. A Chinese technology company has introduced an AI collar that can translate the voices of dogs and cats into human language. This new technology has sparked discussion globally and is being seen as an important technological advancement of the future.

According to the information, ‘Meng Xiaoyi’ has prepared this special device, which is worn like a leash around the neck of animals. The microphones and motion sensors fitted in it read the sounds, movements and physical signals of the animals. After this, an attempt is made to convert these signals into human language using AI technology.

The device has been developed with the help of Alibaba Cloud’s ‘Quan AI’ model. The company claims that it has been trained on millions of animal sounds and behavior samples. This technology claims to recognize more than twenty emotions with approximately ninety-five percent accuracy.

This device is not limited to understanding animal sounds only. The company says that it can also be used for communication between humans and pets. If the owner speaks something into this device, it tries to convey it to the animal by converting it into a dog barking or a cat sound.

A demonstration video released by the company shows that when the cat meows, a sound similar to “I want to play” is heard from the collar. At the same time, when a dog barks, the message “I am hungry” is received. This device is lightweight, weighing approximately twenty-seven grams, so that it does not cause any discomfort to the animals.

The sale of this AI collar is going to start from May 30, and its initial price has been kept at around seven hundred ninety nine yuan i.e. around eleven thousand rupees. Interestingly, it has received more than ten thousand pre-orders even before its arrival in the market.

However, debate regarding this technology has also started on social media. Many people have questioned the company’s claim of ninety-five percent accuracy. Some users say that it is difficult to determine whether the AI is actually translating the animals’ emotions correctly. At the same time, some pet lovers believe that they do not need any technology to understand the emotions of their animals.

In this age of technology, AI is now becoming an important part of humans’ daily life. In such a situation, this new initiative of communication with pets has become the center of attraction for the people.
