New Delhi. A major meeting was held with top Congress leaders on Tuesday amid speculations of leadership change in Karnataka. There are many types of discussions regarding this meeting also. However, party general secretary KC Venugopal pointed out that the entire discussion was focused only on the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and Legislative Council elections in Karnataka. He said that there is no truth in the speculations being made about Karnataka and these are only apprehensions.

In fact, along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and General Secretary in-charge of Karnataka were also present in this meeting. There is discussion in the media that Congress wants to send Siddaramaiah to Rajya Sabha, discussions have also taken place regarding this. However, KC Venugopal has denied this.

He told that only the preparations for Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections were discussed in the meeting and the candidates will be announced along with other states only. Apart from this, no other decision has been taken.

Let us tell you that ever since the Congress government was formed in Karnataka in 2023, there have been continuous reports of internal differences and tension between the factions supporting Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar. Before leaving for Delhi, Siddaramaiah said that he was not aware of the agenda of the meeting and he had only been called.
