Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan produced an unforgettable defensive display with just 10 men against one of the greatest football teams in history.

There may never have been a more quintessential Mourinho moment than when his Inter side held off Pep Guardiola’s brilliant Barcelona in the second leg of the 2010 UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Inter had secured a 3-1 advantage from the first leg in Milan but were reduced to ten men only 28 minutes into the return fixture at the Nou Camp.

With the away goals rule in effect, a 2-0 win would have been enough to send Barcelona through. However, Inter stood firm, defending resolutely and restricting a star-studded Barca line-up to just a single goal — or more accurately, one legitimate goal.

Inter went on to complete a historic treble that season, lifting the Champions League trophy after defeating Bayern Munich in the final.
