The application process for scanned copies of CBSE Class 12 answer sheets has concluded, and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is now set to commence the application process for re-evaluation and verification. CBSE has announced that applications for the re-evaluation (re-checking) and verification of answer sheets will begin on May 29. Previously, the Board had planned to initiate the application process for the re-evaluation and verification of CBSE Class 12 answer sheets on May 26; however, this was delayed due to technical glitches in the portal.
According to CBSE, a total of 404,319 applications were received for scanned copies of Class 12 answer sheets. Students requested a total of 1,131,961 answer sheets, and 898,214 answer sheets were subsequently made available to them digitally. CBSE has stated that any students who have not yet received the scanned copies of their answer sheets will be provided with them by May 27.
**CBSE Dismisses Claims of Hacking**
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted claims circulating on social media alleging that its On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal had been hacked. Specifically, a 19-year-old individual had claimed to have hacked the CBSE OSM portal; however, in its response, CBSE clarified that the website mentioned in the social media posts was not the authentic OSM portal. Instead, it was a testing site containing data loaded solely for testing purposes, and did not contain actual student data.
CBSE stated, "First and foremost, it is clarified that the URL for the portal used for the evaluation of answer sheets is distinct; it has neither been hacked, nor does it contain the vulnerabilities alleged in the social media posts." Issues Encountered on the Portal for Scanned Copies
CBSE had initially set May 19 as the deadline for applying for scanned copies of Class 12 answer sheets; however, due to the portal being non-functional, this date was extended to May 20. Although the application process eventually commenced, the difficulties faced by students did not subside. At times, technical glitches plagued the website, while at other times, students were charged thousands of rupees for a single scanned copy—despite the actual fee being a mere ₹100. Furthermore, complaints regarding the poor clarity of the scanned copies were reported, and some students even alleged discrepancies between the marks awarded in the scanned copies and those reflected in their official mark sheets.
