Sunrisers Hyderabad’s journey in IPL 2026 has ended. In fact, Rajasthan Royals gave them a crushing defeat by 47 runs in the eliminator match and showed them the way out of the tournament. With this important win, Rajasthan Royals have confirmed their place in Qualifier-2, where they will face Gujarat Titans on May 29 in New Chandigarh. The winning team of this match will play the title final with Royal Challengers Bangalore on 31 May in Ahmedabad.
In fact, in this high-scoring match played at Maharaja Yadvindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur on Wednesday, Rajasthan Royals, batting first, scored a huge score of 243 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad was all out after scoring just 196 runs in 19.2 overs and lost the match.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stormy innings
Whereas for Rajasthan, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a stormy inning of 97 runs in just 29 balls. Along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, he made a brilliant partnership of 125 runs for the first wicket in just 7.6 overs. Suryavanshi hit 5 fours and 12 skyscraper sixes in his innings, while Jaiswal contributed 29 runs. After this, Dhruv Jurel also scored a quick 50 runs in 21 balls, while captain Ryan Parag played a quick inning of 26 runs in 12 balls. In the end Ravindra Jadeja returned unbeaten after scoring 12 runs, due to which the team could reach a strong score.
Hyderabad’s bowling remained weak
Talking about Hyderabad’s bowling, Praful Hinge was the most successful, taking 3 wickets for 54 runs in 4 overs. Ishan Malinga, Shivang Kumar and Nitish Reddy got 1 success each. However, captain Pat Cummins proved to be very expensive and gave away 64 runs in his 4 overs, which helped Rajasthan score big.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were reduced to 196 runs only
Sunrisers Hyderabad, which set out to chase the huge target of 244 runs, had a very bad start. Rajasthan fast bowler Joffra Archer gave an initial blow to the team by dismissing Abhishek Sharma for zero in the very first over. He also sent Ishan Kishan (33) and Travis Head (17) to the pavilion and completely turned the match towards Rajasthan. After this, Nitish Reddy tried to put up some fight by scoring 38 runs and Salil Arora scored 35 runs, but could not lead the team to victory and was limited to 196 runs in 19.2 overs.
Jofra Archer was the most successful bowler in Rajasthan’s bowling. He took 3 important wickets giving 58 runs in 4 overs. Nandre Berger, Ravindra Jadeja and Sushant Mishra also performed brilliantly and took 2 wickets each, while Yash Punja got 1 wicket. The combined performance of these bowlers prevented Hyderabad from scoring big.
