HSV may have renewed optimism about keeping Luka Vuskovic at the club for the upcoming season.
As reported by The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur—the parent club of the 19-year-old Croatian defender—are considering offering Vuskovic a contract extension before arranging another loan move for him.
Vuskovic’s current deal with the London side is valid until 30 June 2030. However, the proposed extension is expected to include a substantial salary increase aimed at securing his long-term future with Spurs and deterring potential transfer speculation.
If Tottenham decide to send him out on loan again, Hamburg SV would likely be among the preferred destinations, as both the club and Vuskovic have expressed interest in continuing their collaboration.
The young centre-back has repeatedly mentioned his wish to play alongside his brother Mario at HSV. Mario, who was unavailable last season due to a doping suspension, is expected to return to action soon.
Vuskovic has now established himself as a key member of HSV’s starting lineup.
During the previous season, he emerged as one of the standout revelations in the Bundesliga. Under the guidance of manager Merlin Polzin at Hamburg, the defender made 30 competitive appearances, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
His impressive performances have caught the attention of several top European clubs. FC Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for the talented youngster.
Additionally, FC Barcelona are said to be tracking the 19-year-old closely, with initial discussions between the club and the player already taking place.
