Rajasthan Public Service Commission has announced recruitment (RPSC Recruitment 2026) for the posts of Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO). Notification to which has also been issued. The total number of vacancies is 371. The vacancy is divided into different categories. There are 355 vacancies for non-scheduled area and 15 vacancies for scheduled area. In non scheduled area, 250 posts are vacant for General, 68 for General WE, 30 for WD and 7 for DV. In the scheduled area, there are 11 vacancies for General, two for General WE and one for WD.

All candidates will have to do one time registration on SSO portal. The application fee for General and OBC candidates is Rs 600. Whereas for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC NCL/MBC/EWS/PwBD of Rajasthan), the fee is Rs 400.

Qualification and age limit

To apply, candidates must have Degree in Law (Professional) (LLB) or Integrated Law Course qualification from a recognized university. Apart from this, Devanagari Must have practical knowledge of Hindi written in script and knowledge of Rajasthani dialects and social customs of Rajasthan.

The prescribed age limit should be minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years as on 1 January 2027. SC/ST/OBC/EWS of Rajasthan will be given relaxation of 5 years. General category women of Rajasthan will be given age relaxation of 5 years. Whereas SC/ST/OBC/MBC women candidates of Rajasthan will be given a relaxation of 10 years.

selection process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of preliminary examination and written examination. The preliminary exam will have to be qualifying only. Objective questions will be asked in this. 70% weightage will be of law paper. Whereas 30% weightage will depend on proficiency in Hindi and English language. Candidates selected in the preliminary examination will be able to appear in the written examination. Which will include two papers.

Paper-1 will be to Law subject, which will be of 300 marks tomorrow. Its duration will be 3 hours. Whereas Paper-2 will be to language. In which 50-50 questions to General Hindi and General English will be asked. Its duration will be 2 hours. After this document verification will be done. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of written examination only.
