Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford seems determined to leave behind the uncertainty surrounding his club future as he turns his focus towards preparing for the upcoming World Cup with England.
Reports suggest that Barcelona have shifted their attention to other targets, including Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez, which could mean the Mancunian attacker will be on his way out of Camp Nou despite an impressive loan spell.
Back at Old Trafford, United appear to have no plans for their former talisman and are looking to sell him, hoping to attract a higher transfer fee from outside the Premier League.
The Red Devils are said to prefer avoiding a sale to direct league rivals, even though Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United have shown interest.
Amidst all this speculation, Rashford has been spotted training under Manchester United Under-18 coach Colin Little at Inter Miami, the club owned by United legend Sir David Beckham.
According to The Sun, the 28-year-old forward is working intensely to impress England manager Thomas Tuchel before the World Cup begins.
Tuchel had reportedly encouraged his players to plan their vacations in and around the United States to help them acclimatise to the North American climate ahead of the tournament — and Rashford seems to have followed that advice closely.
“Marcus Rashford got a head start on his England teammates after responding to Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup preparation call,” said the report. “Rashford arrived in the United States earlier than most after Tuchel advised his 26-man squad to spend their holidays in American time zones before the competition. Several players have apparently spent their off-season in the US or the Caribbean following Tuchel’s emphasis on acclimatisation.”
“Rashford flew into Florida and trained at David Beckham’s Inter Miami facility with a private coach. The Barcelona winger even posted a photo of his shooting session, with a trainer wearing Manchester United gear visible in the background.”
“Rashford has been working privately with United coach Colin Little since his breakthrough in 2016. Little, a former non-league striker and currently Darren Fletcher’s assistant with the Under-18s, has played a key role in helping the forward refine his finishing over the years.”
A strong performance at the World Cup could prompt Barcelona to reconsider their stance or encourage other clubs to make formal offers. Manchester United would welcome such a development, as they are eager to remove Rashford’s wages from their books.
The sale of the England international would represent pure profit for United, given his academy roots, giving INEOS further incentive to find a permanent solution this summer.
