The Ministry of Finance has recently launched a new integrated portal for searching for unclaimed assets. Through this single portal, one can search for bank deposits, insurance claims, shares, and mutual funds. Let us understand the procedure for searching for unclaimed assets on this portal.

**Here is the Complete Process:**
First, visit the portal at www.unclaimedassetsportal.in.
On this portal, you will find four distinct sections, covering bank deposits, insurance claims, shares/dividends, and mutual funds.
Now, select the specific section in which you wish to conduct your search and proceed to complete the subsequent steps.

**Process for Searching for Mutual Funds:**
First, provide your PAN number details, followed by your email address or mobile number.

Next, enter the One Time Password (OTP) received on your mobile phone; this will open a new page. Enter your name in the box located at the very top of this page.
Subsequently, two separate boxes will appear, requesting details such as your PAN number, email, mobile number, date of birth, bank account details, residential address, nominee's name, city, PIN code, etc.
Provide any one of the requested details in either of the two boxes and click on 'Proceed'. Your search request will now be registered. You can also track the status of your request on this page.
If you have any unclaimed mutual fund holdings, the relevant details will be displayed.
Similarly, to search for other types of assets, simply select the corresponding option and provide the necessary information on the portal to locate your unclaimed assets.

**A Combination of Four Distinct Portals**
This new portal, launched by the Ministry of Finance, serves as a consolidated platform integrating four distinct portals. These include the RBI's 'UDGAM' (for searching bank deposits), the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI)'s 'Bima Bharosa' (for searching insurance claims), 'MF Central' (operated by KFintech and CAMS), and the 'Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority' (IEPF) portal (operated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs). This portal will enhance citizen convenience by providing access to multiple search facilities on a single platform, and will strengthen ongoing efforts to reconnect people with their legitimate financial assets. This portal marks a significant step towards creating a more accessible, transparent, and citizen-centric financial ecosystem.
