Rajat Patidar MPL 2026: Rajat Patidar, who made Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) champion for the second consecutive time in IPL 2026, is now ready for a new challenge in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League (MPL 2026). Gwalior Cheetahs, owned by JKC Sports, has appointed him as the captain of the team for the upcoming season. The franchise hopes that Patidar’s leadership can lead the team to the title for the first time.

Target to make up for last season’s deficit

Gwalior Cheetah performed brilliantly in MPL 2025 and reached the semi-finals. However, the team missed reaching the finals in a very close match. MPL 2026 will start on June 3 at Holkar Stadium in Indore. In the first match of the tournament, Gwalior Cheetahs will face Ujjain Falcons. The team is entering this season with a balanced combination, in which a great mix of experienced players and young talent will be seen.

Gwalior Cheetahs will benefit from the strategic captaincy of Rajat Patidar on the field, while the experience of head coach Aditya Srivastava will be useful to the team in the dugout. Aditya has been the same captain under whose leadership Madhya Pradesh won the Ranji Trophy title in 2022. On the other hand, Patidar has proved his leadership abilities by scoring more than 500 runs in IPL 2026 and showing excellent captaincy.

Gwalior Cheetah will enter with a strong squad

Gwalior Cheetah’s team includes many talented players. Apart from Rajat Patidar, players like Mangesh Yadav, Akash Singh Raghuvanshi, Anubhav Agarwal, Arpit Patel, Ishan Afridi, Kartik Parihar, Kuldeep Gehi, Parth Chaudhary, Soumya Kumar Pandey, Tushar Verma, Vandit Joshi, Varun Shinde, Varun Tiwari and Vikas Sharma are present in the squad. Special attention will be kept on Mangesh Yadav, who had achieved the distinction of being the highest wicket taker bowler with 14 wickets in the last season.
