Bollywood actress and VJ Rhea Chakraborty has said that Aryan Khan’s arrest brought back painful memories of her younger brother’s detention, describing it as a very difficult period in her life.

The 33-year-old actress, who has made a gradual comeback in recent years after facing intense public scrutiny in a high-profile case linked to the mysterious death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, said she went through a traumatic phase but is now rebuilding her personal and professional life.

She was later cleared of all allegations by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and has since focused on resuming her career.

Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, made headlines in October 2021 when he was arrested by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drug- case.

In a recent interview, Rhea Chakraborty said the legal proceedings and public backlash against Aryan reminded her of her brother Showik Chakraborty’s arrest by the NCB, from which he was later cleared of charges.

She noted that there were striking similarities between Aryan and Showik’s cases, adding that it felt more like a reflection of her brother’s story than her own experience.

Rhea also spoke about the psychological impact of spending time in jail, saying that being separated from family and facing uncertainty about freedom was the hardest part of the experience. She admitted that she suffered severe mental stress during that period and often felt like a victim.

On the professional front, Rhea Chakraborty recently appeared in the reality show MTV Roadies Double Cross. She has also ventured into business by launching her clothing brand titled “Chapter 2.”
