The application process for CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation is currently underway. Providing a recent update on the matter, the CBSE stated that as of 10:00 PM on May 2, more than 28,000 students had applied for re-evaluation. Furthermore, the board noted that based on student feedback, additional improvements have been implemented to enhance the user experience—including an extension of the session time limit. The CBSE further affirmed that its teams are continuously monitoring the system to ensure a secure, reliable, and user-friendly platform for students.
Earlier, the CBSE had provided an update stating that by 3:00 PM on May 2, over 16,000 students had submitted applications through the CBSE re-evaluation portal, despite the platform having faced multiple attempted cyberattacks. According to a statement issued by the CBSE, the portal recorded approximately 1.5 million—or 15 lakh—cyberattack hits within a span of just two minutes.
**What did the Education Minister say regarding the re-evaluation statistics?**
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had previously indicated that, among all students eligible for re-evaluation, it was not expected that more than 20 percent would actually apply for the process. Based on these projections, the total number of applicants was expected to hover around 80,000. However, with 16,000 applications already submitted within just the first 9–10 hours of the portal going live—and with a significant amount of time remaining in the application window—it is now anticipated that the actual number of applicants could far exceed the Education Minister's initial expectations.
**Who is eligible to apply for re-evaluation?**
Students who have already received scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets are eligible to apply for re-evaluation. To do so, applicants must first log in to the portal, complete the Aadhaar verification process, and select the required service. Subsequently, candidates must enter their subject details, pay the requisite fees, and then submit their application. The Board has emphasized that students should thoroughly review their applications before submission, as no modifications will be permitted thereafter.
What should a student do if they do not possess an Aadhaar card?
The CBSE has stated that students who do not have an Aadhaar card may use the Aadhaar card of a parent, guardian, or relative for verification purposes. The Board further clarified that the name, date of birth, and gender linked to the Aadhaar card—as entered during the verification process—must precisely match the details of the individual whose Aadhaar number is being utilized.
