For salaried individuals, checking their PF balance often feels like a cumbersome task. This is because accessing the EPFO passbook typically involves navigating to the official EPFO website, entering a password, and then filling out a CAPTCHA code—only after completing these steps does the passbook become visible. Both of these steps can feel like a hassle; however, those unaware of the alternative will be pleased to know that you can now bypass this entire rigmarole involving passwords and CAPTCHAs and log in effortlessly using just your UAN and an OTP.

The government-developed UMANG app is a truly excellent application, as it provides a comprehensive solution within a single platform—allowing you to view your EPFO passbook and check your PF balance with ease. What makes this app particularly special is that, for the purpose of logging in, you are spared the trouble of having to remember a password or fill out a CAPTCHA code.

**How to Check Your PF Passbook on UMANG**
First, you need to install the UMANG app on your smartphone; the app is available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Once you have downloaded the app, open it. Please note that after downloading, you will be required to log in to the app once to set it up. After logging into the app, use the search bar to type "EPFO" and initiate a search.

From the search results, tap on the "EPFO" option and then click on "View Passbook." You will then be prompted to enter your UAN. After entering your UAN, click on "Get OTP." An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number; enter this OTP into the app and click "Submit." As soon as you enter the OTP, your complete passbook details will appear on your screen; you can use this app to both view and download your passbook.
