Delhi. Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli was ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan on Monday due to a hamstring strain. The three-match series will begin on June 13 in Dharamshala. A BCCI source said, “Kohli has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a hamstring strain.”

Known for his excellent fitness, 37-year-old Kohli had performed brilliantly in the recently concluded IPL. In the IPL, his team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the title for the second consecutive time. Kohli had scored an unbeaten half-century in the final against Gujarat Titans.

Due to Kohli’s exclusion, the shine of the upcoming ODI series has also faded. This former captain of India now plays only in the ODI format but he still remains the center of attraction for cricket fans around the world.

Doubt on Rohit Sharma’s play

Now it remains to be seen whether Rohit Sharma remains available for the entire series against Afghanistan or not. Like Kohli, he now plays for India only in the ODI format. During the IPL, Rohit’s hamstring was also strained and he had to stay out of some matches. He has been included in the team only on the basis of fitness.
