New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while targeting Congress during an event in Surat, Gujarat today, said that today there are some pessimists in the country who keep making fun of the Self-reliant India campaign. They continuously degrade this resolve of the country. These are the people who always kept India dependent on other countries. They forget that a country dependent on others can never achieve the height of development it deserves. Modi said, Congress has been searching for opportunities for itself by spreading chaos and uncertainty for the last 12 years. But the people of the country are giving him a befitting reply again and again. The people of Gujarat have pushed Congress to the margins. Even where there are Congress governments, the people are fed up with the misgovernance of the Congress.
The PM said, today the world is going through unprecedented challenges. Some time ago I had said that this decade is proving to be a decade of disaster for the world. We have seen many global disasters one after another. First came the big crisis of Covid-19, then wars started everywhere and now such a big crisis of energy. It has thrown the entire world into disarray. The prices of petrol and diesel are fluctuating across the world and the gas supply chain is crumbling. I am satisfied that with the combined efforts of 140 crore Indians, the country is facing every such crisis strongly.
Modi said, the world has now become very cautious towards the green era, towards the green future. She is also trying to move slowly. India is also working a lot on green growth and in this too Gujarat had started taking rapid steps years ago. Gujarat is the state which had created a separate department of Climate Change in the government at the beginning of this century. Gujarat is the first state in the country to make such a system.
