He wrote, I have found it especially difficult to work under the leadership and style of working of Abhishek Banerjee. In my experience, his approach to party matters and interactions with party workers has created an environment where long-serving and loyal members feel belittled and marginalised. He wrote that in the absence of proper consultation with party workers, it is becoming difficult for people like me to discharge their responsibilities well. I am thankful to you for the trust and responsibilities given to me as State Secretary (Minority Cell). However, for these reasons, I request you to immediately accept my resignation from all other posts including that of State Secretary (Minority Cell) and primary membership of AITC. I wish you and the party every success in the future.

In a letter to TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Mohammad Ajmal Siddiqui wrote that with full respect, I immediately resign from the State Secretary (Minority Cell) and all other responsibilities assigned to me in AITC, as well as from the primary membership of the party. He further wrote, this decision has not been taken lightly. I have given my time, energy and commitment to the party and have always worked in the interest of the organization and its workers. It is an honor for me to work under your leadership and contribute to the party’s development and outreach to the people. But after much deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that I am no longer in a position to continue my association with the party. However, there are personal reasons involved in my decision. But I also have to express my deep dissatisfaction with the current atmosphere and functioning of the party.

Siddiqui wrote, Over the past few years, many hard-working and dedicated workers have felt that they are being ignored, sidelined and not getting the respect they deserve. The democratic spirit that once encouraged dialogue and joint decision-making has now become quite weak. The genuine concerns of grassroots workers often remain unheard, leading to growing frustration among staunch party members.
