Movements were going on for a long time

For a long time, movements were being carried out by the Maratha community regarding such demands, after which now the government has given its approval to these demands. Devendra Fadnavis government has decided to implement a total of 8 special schemes to improve the future of the youth of Maratha community. With this decision of the government, poor and promising students of Maratha community will get equal opportunities to move ahead.

You will get direct benefit from these 8 big schemes

After this decision issued by the government, students of Maratha community are going to get the benefits of a total of 8 types of welfare schemes. The first scheme in this is the scholarship scheme for secondary education i.e. after 10th class. Along with this, the government has also started the Motor Vehicle Driver and Conductor Training Scheme to provide employment to the youth. Apart from this, a special scholarship scheme will also be run for the students of secondary and higher secondary classes, so that they can complete their studies without any financial hindrance.

Reimbursement schemes also included in the decision

Not only this, 16 other types of reimbursement schemes to students have also been included in this decision. Along with being natives of Maharashtra, students who are studying in subsidized and non-subsidized professional courses in other states have also been brought under the ambit of this scheme.

Like OBC, eligibility will be available in every course

The biggest thing about this new decision is that now the students of Maratha community will also be considered fully eligible for all the courses in which OBC students were eligible to get educational concessions and facilities. Under this, the students of Maratha community who take admission at the institute level approved by the Admission Regulatory Committee on the seats that remain vacant after the completion of the centralized admission process i.e. CAP round, will also be given the benefit of all the educational concessions like OBC students.

The government has also made it clear that all the educational concessions and facilities which are currently applicable to the Other Backward Classes or will be implemented in the coming future, will automatically be applicable to the Maratha community also till further orders.

Demand for concession was rising for a long time

Let us tell you that the Maratha community in Maharashtra was continuously taking to the streets for a long time demanding their rights and reservation. Many big movements have also been seen in the state regarding Maratha reservation. From time to time, different political parties had made big promises to the Maratha community, but no concrete work was being done on the ground. In such a situation, Devendra Fadnavis government deeply understood this old and legitimate issue of Maratha society and took a big decision to provide all the educational facilities and concessions to their children to secure their future.

Cabinet Minister Girish Mahajan’s reaction

After this big and historic decision of the government, state cabinet minister Girish Mahajan has given his reaction. He praised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and also targeted the opposition. Girish Mahajan said that a conspiracy was deliberately hatched by some people to defame Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by calling him anti-Maratha. He said that during the time of Uddhav Thackeray’s government, no leader or minister had paid any attention to this sensitive issue.
