The victim, identified as Billy Schmidt, was just a short distance from his family's residence when the robbery occurred around 1:30 a.m. Surveillance cameras captured the moment, revealing Schmidt pleading for the return of his phone before a gunshot was heard. Reports indicate that the phone was later discovered discarded beneath a parked vehicle. Schmidt was quickly transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
