Madhya Pradesh School Education Department has implemented a new transfer policy for the academic session 2026-27. The application process is going to start today, Monday, June 8, which will continue till July 15, 2026. This entire process will be online.

According to the policy, transfers will first be made on administrative grounds, after which opportunities for voluntary transfers will be available after looking at the status of vacant posts. Please note that all administrative and voluntary transfer orders will be issued online only through the Education Portal. Offline applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Key points of the new transfer policy

  • Under the new policy, no teacher will be transferred in schools with enrollment of less than 10.
  • There will also be a ban on mutual transfer of teachers retiring within 1 year.
  • Those who have one year or less left for retirement will not be administratively transferred.
  • Women suffering from serious illness, widow, divorced or abandoned women will get priority in posting in their home district or at a convenient place.
  • After transfer, there will be a complete ban on withdrawal of salary from the old institution. Disciplinary action will be taken if the order is not followed.
  • Only those teachers who are regularly marking e-attendance will be eligible for voluntary transfer. Public servants who mark regular e-attendance from January to March in the academic session 2025-26 will be eligible.
  • Once voluntary transfer has taken place, the transfer application of that teacher will not be considered again for the next 03 academic sessions, except in special circumstances.
  • Newly appointed probationary teachers will not be transferred outside specific schools.
  • No school will be ‘teacherless’ – While making administrative or voluntary transfers, the department will take special care that no school becomes teacherless (without a teacher).
  • Due to summer vacation in the first week of June, attendance till April 2026 will be considered as the basis for transfer. Complete records of teachers with less than 90 percent e-attendance will be updated on the education portal. Data of those teachers who have not completed three years of service after merger will also be recorded.
  • For balanced distribution of teachers in schools, schools which have more teachers than required (surplus teachers), will be sent to schools which are teacher-less or having less teachers. For this, help of counseling will be taken. The teacher serving for the longest time in any school will be considered ‘surplus’.
