Manchester United have reportedly shown interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers pair Sam Johnstone and Mateus Mane, while Aston Villa are progressing in discussions regarding Lamare Bogarde and assessing their goalkeeping options, as per reports from ExpressAndStar.com.

Following earlier speculation that United were considering a reunion with goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, the club is now believed to be leading the chase for 18-year-old Mateus Mane, should he decide to leave Wolves during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Wolves manager Rob Edwards has stated that Mane will remain part of the squad for their Championship campaign, a stance that the young forward himself has publicly supported.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have reportedly submitted a proposal to sign former Wolves defender Bastien Meupiyou, who is currently with Portuguese club Alverca, including performance-related add-ons. Although Wolves possess a buy-back clause for a modest fee, they are not expected to exercise it.

Under a sell-on clause, Wolves would recover their initial investment and receive 50 per cent of any profit if a transfer is completed. Should Meupiyou secure a move this summer, it could bring a financial boost to the Molineux outfit.

At Aston Villa, negotiations are ongoing with midfielder Lamare Bogarde, aged 22. The Dutch youngster has earned praise under Unai Emery and is said to have attracted interest from several clubs, including Brighton & Hove Albion, despite being under contract until 2028.

With speculation surrounding Emi Martinez’s potential departure, Villa are also reportedly keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain’s goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. Tottenham Hotspur are among the other clubs believed to be monitoring the French shot-stopper ahead of a possible summer move.
