Manchester United are reportedly eyeing two promising Wolverhampton Wanderers players, while Borussia Dortmund have made a move for a former Wolves defender, and Aston Villa are continuing their efforts to strengthen their midfield and goalkeeping departments.
As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, United have shown interest in 18-year-old Mateus Mane following speculation about a potential reunion with Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. The Red Devils are believed to be leading the chase should Mane decide to leave this summer.
Wolves head coach Rob Edwards has, however, stated that Mane will remain in the Championship, a position the youngster himself has also supported.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are understood to have submitted a bid for former Wolves defender Bastien Meupiyou, who currently plays for Alverca. The offer is reportedly valued at around £14.7 million, including performance-related add-ons.
Although Wolves possess a low-cost buy-back clause, they are not expected to exercise it. Their existing sell-on agreement would entitle them to recoup the £4.2 million transfer fee along with 50 per cent of any profit, meaning a potential Dortmund deal could result in a significant financial boost for the club.
In the meantime, Aston Villa are said to be in discussions regarding a new contract for 22-year-old Lamare Bogarde, following his impressive showings under manager Unai Emery. Brighton are among the clubs reportedly monitoring the situation closely.
Despite Bogarde’s current deal running until 2028, negotiations are believed to be ongoing. With goalkeeper Emi Martinez linked with a possible exit, Villa have also been credited with an interest in Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier, although Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be in the mix.
