Juventus Turin are reportedly lining up a former Bundesliga striker as the successor to Dusan Vlahovic.

Reports suggest that Juventus have already identified the player who could fill the void left by Vlahovic. A former Bundesliga standout is believed to be close to joining the Turin-based club.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Atlético Madrid have decided on Alexander Sörloth as a potential departing player. However, Juventus and Atlético still need to settle on the transfer fee before any agreement can be finalised.

The former RB Leipzig forward, who completed a move from Real Sociedad to Atlético Madrid in 2024 for €32 million, netted 44 goals in 107 official appearances for the Spanish side. Despite those numbers, he never managed to cement a consistent starting position under manager Diego Simeone.

Juventus are preparing for the expected departure of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract is nearing its end and will not be extended. The Serbian striker, originally signed for €85 million, could not reach an agreement on salary terms with the club after prolonged talks. Now 26 years old, Vlahovic is set to leave on a Bosman transfer, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona reportedly among his suitors.

Juventus’ attacking issues continue to mount: could Lois Openda also be on his way out?

Sörloth remains under contract with Atlético until 2028, meaning that luring the 30-year-old away will likely require a significant investment. Juventus’ sixth-place finish last season—falling short of their UEFA Champions League ambitions—highlighted their need for greater attacking strength.

Neither Jonathan David, who managed eight goals and five assists, nor Lois Openda, who scored just twice, met expectations. Despite this, Openda will still join permanently from Sörloth’s former side RB Leipzig for around €40 million, triggered by a clause that required Juventus to finish in Serie A’s top ten. Yet, speculation already points to Openda’s potential exit, with Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly considering a move for the Belgian forward.
