According to a recent report from Fichajes, Manchester United are showing strong interest in signing Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo during the upcoming summer transfer window. The report suggests that the Red Devils have identified the Belgian striker as a key target for a potential move before the start of the new season.

Fernandez-Pardo impressed with his performances for the French side last season, producing consistent and impactful displays in the attacking third. The 21-year-old managed to score eight goals and provide seven assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for Lille during the previous campaign.

Currently regarded as one of Ligue 1’s most promising young forwards, Fernandez-Pardo could be a smart addition for Manchester United if they succeed in securing his signature this summer.

The Belgian attacker remains under contract with Lille until the summer of 2029, a factor that could complicate any attempt by the Red Devils to bring him in for a discounted fee in this transfer window.

During the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 League Phase Matchday 5 clash against Bologna FC 1909 at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on November 27, 2024, Fernandez-Pardo featured for LOSC Lille and once again displayed his attacking flair and composure on the field.

Fernandez-Pardo’s ability to find space and create goal-scoring opportunities makes him a dangerous presence inside the box. He possesses the vision to deliver key passes in advanced areas and is also an adept dribbler. Standing at 1.88 metres, the young striker effectively uses his physical strength to challenge defenders and win aerial duels.

The Belgian youngster deserves recognition for improving his goal contributions at such a young age. While he primarily operates as a centre-forward, he is also capable of playing as a winger on either flank when required. That said, questions remain about how quickly he could adapt to the pace and intensity of the Premier League if Manchester United succeed in signing him this off-season.

Adding Fernandez-Pardo would provide head coach Michael Carrick with additional attacking depth and versatility in the frontline. The Belgian talent has the quality to compete for a first-team position at Old Trafford over the coming years.

At just 21 years old, Fernandez-Pardo possesses the attributes and potential to evolve into a major star in English football. For that reason, Carrick and the Manchester United hierarchy would be wise to intensify their pursuit of the Lille forward later this year.
