In light of the recent electoral defeat and the summons from the CID, Abhishek Banerjee, the national general secretary of TMC and MP, has made significant remarks. He stated today, "As you know, the CID summoned me. I was there for 5.5 hours. I have been called again on June 14, and I will attend. I always cooperate with such investigations. I might receive summons for other matters as well. I informed them to issue notices to others since I was not present. However, I heard they were waiting. If they wish to issue notices when I am absent and not allow anyone else to take the notice, they will have to wait until I return home. I always collaborate with agencies."
Concerns Over Information Leaks
Banerjee further mentioned that many individuals are spreading news based on information from the CID regarding his appearance. He expressed his intention to approach the High Court concerning the leaks, stating, "Even though I am not sharing any details about the ongoing case, the leaks are concerning." He also addressed allegations made by party MP Kalyan Banerjee, saying, "Kalyan Banerjee is older than me and has the right to express his opinion. He has known me since childhood, and I will not speak against him."
Political Dynamics and Allegations
He pointed out that during the elections, there were no complaints regarding his 'DJ', but now that the government has changed, cases are being filed against him repeatedly. He questioned why there are no FIRs against Amit Shah for his provocative statements. Banerjee reiterated, "Many are reporting based on information from the CID regarding my appearance. We will approach the High Court concerning the leaks, as we will not back down in this fight. You cannot intimidate us; we are not afraid of agencies. TMC cannot be bent by breaking MLAs and MPs. You promised to provide Annapurna Bhandar, but the situation has changed now."
