Assembly elections are to be held in Uttar Pradesh in the year 2027, for which political parties have already started preparations. Apart from Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samajwadi Party has also started preparations. The party is even going to meetings at the district level. There were reports that BSP will contest the elections in alliance with some party. However, former Chief Minister and party chief Mayawati had refused to talk about alliance with any party.

Despite Mayawati’s refusal, BSP has received the offer of alliance and this offer has been presented by the party of Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen supremo Asaduddin Owaisi. AIMIM is also going to enter the UP elections with full strength. Therefore AIMIM has given this offer to BSP.

What did Shaukat Ali say about alliance with BSP?

Before Asaduddin Owaisi’s proposed Bahraich rally on June 14, AIMIM state president Shaukat Ali has given a big statement regarding the 2027 assembly elections. Shaukat Ali, who reached Bahraich, said while talking to journalists that AIMIM wants to fight with BSP in the upcoming assembly elections.

He said that the alliance of Dalit and Muslim voters can prove to be a strong and effective equation in the politics of the state. According to Shaukat Ali, if this alliance is formed then on its strength both Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party can be given a tough challenge. After his statement, discussions regarding new equations and possible alliances in the state politics have intensified.

The state president of AIMIM claimed that if there is an alliance of Dalit and Muslim votes, it can bring a big change in the politics of UP. Shaukat Ali said that in the year 2017, Congress and SP had formed an alliance, but it could not succeed in stopping the BJP. According to him, BJP cannot be challenged on the basis of traditional alliances alone.

He said that new political equations may emerge in the upcoming assembly elections, which have the potential to change the direction of the politics of the state. His statement is being seen as an indication of possible coalition politics and new electoral equations before the 2027 assembly elections.
