Moringa Rice Recipe: Perfect combination of taste and health, make Moringa Rice at home

Recipe to make Moringa Rice: If you are bored of eating the same rice every day and want to eat something tasty and healthy, then Moringa rice is perfect for you. Moringa, also known as drumstick or munga in Hindi, is a superfood that is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Its leaves contain more calcium than milk and many times more vitamin C than oranges. This rice will not only give a beautiful color to your plate but will also improve your health. This tasty and healthy recipe is better for children’s lunch box or afternoon lunch.
You do not need many things to make this delicious and nutritious rice. It can be prepared with basic ingredients available in the kitchen.
Ingredients to make Moringa Rice
- Drumstick or Moringa leaves
- Rice
- Green chilly
- Ghee
- rye
- curry leaves
- Chickpea lentil
- urad dal
- Groundnut
- Cashew
- Onion
- Lemon
How to make Moringa Rice
- First of all, separate the drumstick leaves from the stalk and wash them thoroughly with water two-three times.
- Now put these leaves in the mixer jar. Prepare a thick and smooth green paste by mixing green chillies and a little water (2-3 spoons).
- Now place a kadhai or pan on the gas and heat ghee or oil in it.
- When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, gram dal and urad dal.
- Fry the pulses until they turn light golden and aromatic.
- After this, add peanuts or cashews and fry for a minute.
- Add finely chopped onion to the tempering and cook until it turns light pink.
- Now add the ground Moringa paste in the mixer.
- Fry this paste on medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, so that the rawness of the drumstick leaves goes away completely and a good aroma starts coming out.
- When the paste is fried well and starts releasing oil, then slow down the flame.
- Now add pre-cooked rice and salt as per taste in the pan.
- Mix the rice with the spices gently so that the rice grains do not break.
- Cover the pan for 2 minutes so that all the flavors mix in the rice.
- Finally, turn off the gas, squeeze lemon juice on top and serve hot Moringa rice with raita or papad.
