Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has issued important information for consumers using smart meters. UPPCL has announced that, moving forward, electricity bill updates will be sent directly to your phone by the 15th of every month, enabling everyone to pay their bills on time. UPPCL shared this update via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that smart meter consumers will now receive their monthly electricity bills within a scheduled timeframe each month. Bill notifications are being sent to registered mobile numbers via SMS and WhatsApp to ensure timely receipt and payment. If your mobile number is not yet updated or has changed, please update it immediately to ensure you continue to receive bills, payment details, and other important information on time.

Important News for Smart Meter Consumers
UPPCL has shared crucial billing-related information specifically for smart meter consumers to ensure they receive their electricity bills accurately and on time. According to UPPCL, smart meter consumers will now receive their electricity bills by the 15th of each month. While delays or uncertainty regarding bill delivery occurred previously, this new system ensures timely receipt, providing relief to consumers. Bills will be sent to registered mobile numbers via SMS and WhatsApp, eliminating the need for consumers to make extra efforts to obtain them.

According to UPPCL, if some consumers do not receive a bill based on automatic readings by the 15th due to technical reasons, a bill based on manual reading will be provided by the 18th of the month; essentially, consumers are guaranteed to receive their bills within the stipulated timeframe.

How to Pay the Electricity Bill
Bill payment facilities will continue as before. Consumers can easily pay their electricity bills through the official UPPCL website, the UPPCL Smart App, Jan Seva Kendras (Common Service Centers), fintech agents, and various digital platforms. Additionally, the facility to make payments via UPI is also available.

How to update your mobile number
Consumers whose mobile numbers are not updated or are incorrectly recorded in the billing system can update them by calling the 1912 helpline number or by visiting the UPPCL website. Furthermore, if a consumer notices any error in their bill, they can have it rectified by lodging a complaint.
