On Saturday, Kalyan Banerjee described party colleague Abhishek Banerjee as his "son". He said, "He is like my son. And it is a father's job to forgive every mistake of his son. Democracy is in danger in the country. There has never been such a situation in West Bengal that the opposition is destroyed. This Chief Minister is working with a sense of revenge. This is a threat to democracy."

TMC's rebel MP is going to play

The senior TMC leader also talked about the rebel MPs who are preparing to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Kalyan Banerjee said, "Let them do whatever they want. Ultimately they will have to take shelter in BJP. This is all a ploy. They give the reason for the development of their constituencies, but what work will those people do who cannot even go to their areas.
When democracy has ended in West Bengal. Even after talking to the CM, what development has happened in the last one month? BJP is harassing us, police is harassing us. No opposition in West Bengal has ever faced such a situation as we are facing. BJP will not accept the 19 MPs who are joining BJP."

TMC merging with Congress?

Kalyan Banerjee also made it clear that TMC is not merging with Congress. “We are not merging with the Congress,” he said.
