India Post GDS 5th Merit List 2026: India Post released the fourth merit list for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment 2026 on June 8. The fourth merit list has been published on the official website, indiapost.gov.in. Candidates whose names did not appear in this list are now awaiting the fifth merit list. It is worth noting that India Post is filling 28,636 vacancies under the GDS recruitment drive this year. The positions to be filled include Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak. The recruitment is being conducted across various postal circles.

When will the 5th GDS merit list be released?
India Post has released a total of four GDS merit lists so far. Looking at the trends from last year's recruitment, a total of six merit lists were issued to fill 21,000 posts. Given this, it is expected that further merit lists may be released for the 28,636 vacancies. The 4th supplementary list was released on June 8, 2026, and the document verification process is currently underway, scheduled to continue until June 23, 2026. If India Post releases another merit list, it is likely to be issued by the second week of July.

What is the salary?
Candidates selected for the Branch Postmaster (BPM) post will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹29,380. Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPM) and Dak Sevaks will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹24,470.
