English winger Anthony Gordon has revealed that he received valuable insights about Barcelona from his compatriot, Marcus Rashford.

Barcelona made a surprising move ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window by committing a massive sum of 80 million euros to secure Gordon from Newcastle United.

The transfer of Anthony Gordon to Camp Nou was officially completed at the end of May 2026. The club then tied him to a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.

“He told me how fantastic the players there are, the team spirit they have, which I had already heard from others at Barça,” Gordon told TalkSPORT. “So I can’t wait to join them. Rashford also told me about the city and the living environment. He’s a really good and thoughtful person.”

He added, “He just gave me some information.”

Gordon’s deep admiration for Barcelona has been embedded in him since he was just three years old. Even during his unveiling as a new player, he demonstrated fluency in Spanish during his interview session.

Armed with Rashford’s insights and his own careful preparation, Gordon is now determined to justify his hefty transfer fee and help Barcelona reclaim their dominance in Europe.

Before making his debut for the reigning La Liga champions, the 25-year-old winger has an important assignment with the England national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. England will compete in Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
