Boost for Local Jersey Businesses in Solo
One of the local jersey business owners in Solo, Nofi Setiawan of NS Jersey, shared his thoughts about the potential champions and runners-up of Group A.
Before sharing his predictions, Nofi talked about how he started his jersey business.
He explained that his venture began when he was still in high school.
“The background of this business came from my marketing studies in school. There were practical exams, so I decided to test this business idea back then. Since it matched my hobby, I started selling small quantities after graduating from college, and it’s grown to what it is now,” Nofi explained on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.
According to Nofi, he began taking the business seriously after the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia.
“It actually started as a hobby around 2020. I didn’t take it seriously until after the COVID-19 outbreak. Since then, I’ve been more focused and expanded the business,” he said.
Regarding the 2026 World Cup and fan enthusiasm for buying jerseys, Nofi mentioned that sales typically surge after the group stage concludes.
“The demand usually spikes after the group stage matches,” he noted.
Nofi revealed that jerseys from European nations like Germany and France are the most popular among customers.
He added that Brazil and Argentina jerseys are also highly sought after.
“The best-selling ones are from Germany and France. Portugal also sells well, mostly because of Ronaldo. Argentina and Brazil are also very popular. England and the Netherlands are not as hyped,” he said.
Interestingly, Dutch jerseys tend to sell more in Eastern Indonesia.
“Most of my Dutch jersey orders go to Eastern Indonesia since many people there have Dutch ancestry,” Nofi explained.
He added that customers usually buy jerseys based on three main factors.
“In my experience, people choose jerseys for three reasons: design, their favourite player or team (like Ronaldo, Mbappe, or Messi), and their budget,” Nofi elaborated.
Nofi also shared that older jersey designs can see renewed demand if the team performs well in the World Cup.
“What’s most memorable for me is when I still have old stock and that team advances far in the tournament. For example, I had Argentina jerseys in 2022, and when they reached the semifinals, demand skyrocketed, and prices went up,” he recalled.
Nofi’s farthest deliveries have been to Papua and Maluku, usually in bulk orders.
“I’ve shipped to Papua and Maluku, mostly to individual buyers, not resellers. The biggest order was around 12 pieces. Buyers usually coordinate with friends to share shipping costs,” he said.
