Boosting the Spirit of Local Jersey Businesses in Solo

One of the local jersey entrepreneurs in Solo, Nofi Setiawan, owner of NS Jersey, shared his predictions regarding the winner and runner-up of Group A.

Before sharing his predictions, Nofi Setiawan recounted how he started his jersey business.

He explained that his journey began while he was still in high school.

“The background of this business comes from my marketing studies in school. We had to do practical exams, so I decided to try running this business back then. It started as a hobby, and I continued selling gradually after finishing college until now.”

“Thank God, the business has grown quite well. I sell adult jerseys in two versions – the regular (stadium) and the player issue. I also sell shorts and kids’ jerseys. That’s how it all started,” Nofi Setiawan told TribunWow.com on Wednesday (10 June 2026).

He began to take the business more seriously after the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia.

“If I trace it back, it started around 2020 just as a hobby and for extra income. But after the Covid pandemic, I became more serious about managing it, and the business has grown since then,” he explained.

Regarding the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the demand for jerseys, Nofi said sales usually increase after the group stage ends.

“Yes, usually the spike comes after the group stage,” he said.

According to Nofi, the most popular jerseys are from European nations, particularly Germany and France.

Besides Germany and France, the football powerhouses from South America — Brazil and Argentina — are also in high demand.

“The best-sellers are definitely Germany and France. Portugal comes next, mainly because of Ronaldo. Other favourites include Argentina and Brazil. England and the Netherlands are not as hyped,” he explained.

Interestingly, Dutch jerseys sell well in eastern Indonesia.

“We often ship Dutch jerseys to eastern Indonesia because many people there have Dutch ancestry, so we send a lot of them,” Nofi added.

He further explained that most customers buy jerseys for three main reasons.

“From my experience, customers usually choose based on three things: design, their favourite player or team (like Ronaldo, Mbappe, or Messi), and their budget,” said Nofi.

Since entering the football jersey business, Nofi has noticed that older designs become popular again when certain teams make deep runs in the World Cup.

“For me, it’s always exciting when old stock sells because the team performs well. For example, I still had Argentina jerseys from 2022, and when they reached the semifinals, demand skyrocketed. Prices also went up accordingly,” he said.

Nofi has even shipped jerseys as far as Papua and Maluku.

He mentioned that shipments to Papua and Maluku are often done in bulk, with the highest being 12 pieces in one order.

“I have customers all the way in Papua and Maluku. They usually order together with friends to save on shipping costs. The largest single order was 12 pieces,” Nofi concluded.
