Singapore’s wellness tourism economy has reached more than US$23 billion, with over 1 million inbound wellness trips, according to the report released this month by the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to research and education in the global wellness industry.

Singapore’s wellness economy grew at an annual rate of 8.2%, slightly exceeding the global average of 7.9%, highlighting Singapore’s emergence as one of the world’s leading urban wellness destinations, the report added.

“Singapore has become one of the world’s most compelling examples of how wellness can be woven into the fabric of urban life,” said Susie Ellis, chair and CEO of GWI.

“The country’s strong growth across wellness tourism, wellness real estate and mental wellness reflects rising global demand for destinations that support healthier, more balanced living.”

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) previous said that it wanted to develop Singapore as a wellness tourism destination amid the growing popularity of the trend – travel focused on improving one’s physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Singapore has earned a reputation as a “City in Nature,” seamlessly blending urban development with wellness-focused living.

This vision is evident from the moment visitors arrive at Jewel Changi Airport, home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall surrounded by lush greenery, trees, and landscaped gardens.

Beyond the airport, an extensive 300-kilometer Park Connector Network weaves through the city, connecting iconic landmarks such as Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands with parks and natural reserves.

The network encourages travelers alike to stay active by walking, cycling, jogging, or rollerblading while exploring Singapore’s diverse attractions.
