The full line-up of ITV commentators, pundits, and presenters for Argentina’s 2026 World Cup opener against Algeria has been officially announced.

Four years after Lionel Messi led the Albiceleste to glory in Qatar, Lionel Scaloni’s men return to the global stage aiming to become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to retain the coveted trophy.

Argentina will kick off their Group J campaign in Kansas against Algeria, who are making their first World Cup appearance since 2014. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 AM BST.

UK fans will be able to watch the action live on ITV, with Laura Woods fronting the coverage. Woods, a well-known broadcaster recognised for her work with ITV, Sky Sports, and talkSPORT, will take on presenting duties.

In the studio, she will be joined by three distinguished pundits, including France’s 1998 World Cup winner Patrick Vieira. The former Arsenal captain famously lifted the trophy for Les Bleus before going on to claim the Euro 2000 title two years later.

Also joining the panel is England legend Karen Carney, who has become a regular face on ITV’s football coverage. The former Lionesses midfielder earned over 100 caps for her country and was part of the England team that finished third at the 2015 World Cup.

With a mix of championship experience and media expertise, ITV’s broadcast team promises comprehensive and insightful coverage as Argentina begin their title defence against Algeria.
