POS-KUPANG.COM, BORONG – The Head of Class II Immigration Office TPI Labuan Bajo, Charles Christian M, has placed his support behind the Japan National Football Team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to Charles, he supports the Blue Samurai, as Japan’s national team is known, because of their excellent playing style and world-class technical quality.
“I support Japan’s national team because their playing pattern is truly impressive. In several matches, including the qualifiers, FIFA Match Day games, and especially when they faced the Netherlands in Group F of the 2026 World Cup, they managed to hold the Dutch to a 2-2 draw,” said Labuan Bajo Immigration Chief Charles on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, in Borong.
Charles added that aside from their impressive tactics and technical play, many Japanese national team players currently play in European leagues, which gives them invaluable experience against top European teams.
“Japan’s team plays with great cohesion. Many of their players are active in major European leagues, such as Wataru Endo, Tomiyasu, Kubo, and several others,” he explained.
The Japan national team is placed in Group F of the 2026 World Cup alongside three strong teams: the Netherlands, Sweden, and Tunisia.
In their opening match against the Netherlands, Japan managed to secure a 2-2 draw. Their next fixture will see them face Tunisia.
Charles predicted that Japan will convincingly defeat Tunisia 2-0 and expressed optimism that the Asian powerhouse could advance to the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
“My prediction for the match against Tunisia is that this Asian giant will win 2-0. Japan’s playing style is solid, and I believe they can reach the final four. Let’s support the Asian team,” he concluded. (rob)
