A significant fire has erupted at a commercial facility located in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, leading local authorities to issue a shelter-in-place directive for residents in the vicinity. Thick plumes of black smoke were visible rising from the structure on South Los Palos Street as flames spread across the rooftop. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported that their teams were on-site addressing the fire at a large logistics center managed by Lineage, a company specializing in cold storage and transportation.

Initially, firefighters attempted to combat the flames from the roof; however, they were instructed to retreat around 15:25 local time as the fire began to engulf solar panels on the building. Visuals from the scene depicted heavy smoke billowing into the sky as the situation escalated.

The LAFD has advised residents in nearby areas to stay indoors and keep their windows shut due to the smoke, reinforcing the shelter-in-place order. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and fortunately, no injuries have been reported at this time. Firefighters continue to work diligently at the scene to bring the blaze under control.
