Gyanhigyan english | June 19, 2026 4:40 PM CST

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is ramping up preparations for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026. In the lead-up to the exam, the NTA has issued crucial security advisories and dress code guidelines for candidates. Additionally, candidates who have yet to download their new admit cards for the re-exam are receiving reminder SMS, emails, and notifications via WhatsApp from the NTA.

Beware of Fraud: Identifying Authentic NTA WhatsApp Messages

To protect students from scams and misinformation during the exam period, the NTA has issued an alert via a post on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter). The agency has emphasized that students should not fall for any fake messages or claims regarding paper leaks.

How to Distinguish Between Genuine and Fake Messages

Verified Number: The official WhatsApp number of the NTA is +91 78279 80287.

Blue Tick: When receiving messages, ensure that the sender's name is "National Testing Agency" accompanied by a blue verified tick. Any message from a number without this blue tick should not be considered legitimate.

No Personal Information: This number is solely for broadcasting information. The NTA will never ask for responses, OTPs, personal data, or any form of payment.

No Paper Leak Claims: The NTA has clearly stated that they do not send question papers, answer keys, or any leaked materials via WhatsApp or any other medium.

Important Update on Admit Cards

Candidates can download their re-test admit cards immediately from the official website neet.nta.nic.in. It is crucial to note that the old admit card issued last month (May 3) is now completely invalid. Only the new re-test admit card will be accepted at the examination center.

Exam Center Guidelines: Required Documents

To gain entry to the exam center, candidates must possess the following items; otherwise, they will not be permitted to take the exam:

A hard copy or printout of the new re-test admit card.

A government-issued photo ID proof (such as PAN card, voter ID card, etc.).

Strict Dress Code Issued by NTA

To prevent any disruptions during the examination, the NTA has implemented a strict dress code for both male and female candidates.

1. Rules for Male Candidates:

Clothing: Only casual trousers, pants, or simple jeans are allowed.

Footwear: Candidates should wear slippers instead of shoes to the exam center.

Others: No hats, scarves, or any head-covering items are permitted.

2. Rules for Female Candidates:

Clothing: Only simple leggings or trousers are allowed at the center.

Footwear: Choose simple sandals; shoes are not permitted.

Special Instructions: Avoid applying henna on hands (to prevent issues during biometric attendance) and do not bring any handbags or purses into the exam center.
