Delhi Metro News: The DMRC has launched a metro coach reservation facility for passengers, allowing groups to book an entire coach for a set fee, ensuring a comfortable journey.
Delhi Metro Coach Booking: Delhi Metro trains are often crowded during daily commutes, making it difficult for passengers to find a seat. Now, under a special facility by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), passengers can reserve an entire metro coach for their group by paying a fixed amount. This policy was introduced specifically to make group travel easier.
Through DMRC's coach reservation scheme, people can enjoy a comfortable metro journey free from crowds and hassle. A key objective of this policy is to manage the growing crowds on the metro and spare passengers the inconvenience of struggling to find individual tickets or seats.
What is the DMRC's special coach reservation policy?
The primary aim of this Delhi Metro policy is to provide a comfortable journey for groups without inconveniencing regular passengers. A key condition is that filming movies or songs during the journey is not permitted. Additionally, those booking a coach must still adhere to security checks and all metro regulations.
Who can avail of this booking?
Tourists, tour operators, and families traveling together can take advantage of this policy. For school groups, a minimum of 50 children and 2 teachers is required.

In addition, you may have to pay around ₹23,500 in facility charges and taxes.
No facility charge is levied for school groups.
What special facilities are provided?
Your group receives several special amenities when booking a coach, such as:
The entire coach is reserved exclusively for your group.
A welcome announcement may be made at the station.
Free parking facilities will be provided, subject to availability.
CISF security arrangements will be in place for your safety.
A 15-minute window will be provided for boarding and alighting.
A guided tour of the Patel Chowk Metro Museum may also be available.
If a tour operator makes a booking for the fifth time within a 365-day period, the facility fee is waived for bookings made on Sundays and public holidays.
How to book and what are the cancellation rules?
To book a metro coach, you must apply at least 15 days prior to the scheduled journey. You need to submit a form at any metro station or the DMRC headquarters. Once approved, an advance payment is required.
