Annapurna Bhandar: Big Update in Final List Creates Fresh Buzz! Read On
Asianetnews | June 21, 2026 7:39 PM CST

The government is almost done cleaning up the Lakshmir Bhandar list. Now, Suvendu Adhikari's government has made a new list for the Annapurna Bhandar scheme. But here's the catch: your name must be on the SIR list to qualify. The Annapurna Bhandar scheme is the BJP government's most popular project, even though it's an alternative to Lakshmir Bhandar. The government promises to give Rs 3,000 every month to eligible women under this scheme. The Annapurna Bhandar scheme will launch on June 1, just a few days away. Good news for existing Lakshmir Bhandar beneficiaries—they don't need to re-apply. However, new applicants must submit a fresh application.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari promised to continue all old schemes. But he made it clear that benefits won't be for everyone. The administration is now removing deceased persons and infiltrators from the beneficiary lists to ensure only genuine people get the money.

Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal ordered officials to submit the cleaned-up beneficiary list on May 25. District Magistrates were responsible for this report. Finance Secretary Prabhat Mishra and State Secretary Sanghamitra Ghosh are monitoring the entire process. Sources in the administration say the government is heavily relying on the SIR list to filter the beneficiaries. If your name is missing from the SIR list, you might be dropped from the Annapurna Bhandar scheme too. However, the government has not made a final decision yet. Officials will check the 58 lakh ASDD data, an additional 6 lakh unmapped names, and the re-verified SDD list. But, if your name was removed and you've appealed to a tribunal, the government won't object to keeping you on the list for now. The state government is using the SIR list mainly to remove 'ghost' or fake beneficiaries, deceased individuals, and infiltrators. Basically, they are making sure there are no easy loopholes in this government scheme.

Admin sources confirm that even new applicants will be cross-checked with the SIR list. BDOs will use their own staff and also involve local BLOs for this verification, as BLOs know the residents of their areas well.

The Women and Child Welfare Department is launching a new portal for this scheme. The government started reviewing all social security scheme lists right after the elections, and has appointed BLOs to help with the work. To get the Annapurna Bhandar benefit, you must be a state resident, a woman between 25-60 years, and not receiving any other government pension. Government employees and pensioners are not eligible. You must have an Aadhaar card, voter card, and a personal bank account.
