Ederson has confirmed that his transfer to Manchester United is nearly finalised, revealing in an interview with Sky Sport that the deal is "practically almost all sorted" and only awaits his signature to be made official.
"I have to make the most of this moment," Ederson remarked. "Being here is something truly special, and it’s an experience one must cherish to the fullest."
The Brazilian midfielder started on the bench in the opening World Cup match against Morocco but later featured in Brazil’s victory over Haiti, gaining crucial minutes on the pitch.
Manchester United are set to pay around €45 million to Atalanta for the 26-year-old, marking yet another significant profit for the Italian side. Atalanta had originally signed Ederson from Salernitana for a small fraction of that amount.
Having established himself as one of Serie A’s most consistent and dynamic midfielders over four seasons in Bergamo, Ederson joins United at the height of his career, bringing both experience and energy to Erik ten Hag’s squad.
The formal completion of the transfer is expected to take place once Brazil conclude their World Cup campaign.
